Here are some first impressions of our brand new Auris blueMe

We were excited to see the Auris blueMe project featured on Kickstarter last year, especially excited to support it, and extraordinarily excited to receive ours in the mail over the holiday season.

For those who don’t know about Auris:

Founded in 2013, Auris, Inc. is tea
m of friends, engineers, audio geeks, designers and explorers based in Las Vegas. We are bound together with one sole purpose in mind: creating audio solutions that simplify and enhance modern lifestyle.

About blueMe:

bluMe is more than a Bluetooth music receiver; it’s also a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC). Digital tracks are simple sequences of code. To turn this code into a signal that speakers can recognize, you need digital-to-analogue converters (DACs for short). bluMe features the world renowned ‘Miracle DAC’ AK4396 by AKM. It’s a true Hi-Fi 24bit / 192kHz upsampling audiophile DAC sporting a high SNR of 120dB that is well regarded for its impressive low noise and low distortion characteristics. In short, this means that the sound you hear is crystal clear, rich and retains a wonderfully full dynamic range.

While Bluetooth has advanced quite a bit within our industry, and has become very popular due to its modularity, the quality has not always matched what the hardware is capable of creating. We’ve heard great things about what the folks at Auris are up to and so we looked forward to checking it out.

Our very immediate impressions are that the quality is indeed higher than everything else we’ve run into so far, which has been—for lack of a better term—crap. There is no interference from any surrounding sources and the range is phenomenal. The audio quality is very good, and impressively sonically even. We’ll keep testing and keep you posted but so far, so good.
